      Michael grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, north of the river. Following his graduation from Park Hill High School, he attended college at the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Missouri. There he received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in History. In 2008, Michael received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law, in Columbia, Missouri. While attending the University of Missouri-Columbia, Michael was a member of the Missouri Law Review, and upon graduation, was inducted into the University of Missouri Chapter of the Order of the Coif. Presently, Michael lives in Buckner, Missouri, with his wife Heidi and their three children.

      Michael is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, Kansas City Missouri Metropolitian Bar Association and the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association. He is also a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, and is actively involved as a member of his church.
